Land of a thousand empires

Just back in Uganda from Ethiopia. My two weeks somehow felt like months, wonderfully stretched. I knew next to nothing about Ethiopia when I bought the ticket, and what I didn't know was that Ethiopia is one of the most enthralling countries this world has concocted. Home to multiple historical empires, host to a tantalizing mixture of African and Arab cultures, Christian and Muslim traditions, base of 100 vast, unique landscapes from lush mountains to deadly deserts. And it sports some of the best coffee in the world for 15 cents a pop and pretty good pizza. Some photos below. Stories if you ask.
